03 Mifare contactless
A family of cards which contain microcircuitries with contactless interface (M35101, M35102, MF1 IC S40 - MF1 IC S70 and etc.) They differ in size, memory organization and also in protection characteristics.
  • Chips with memory size from 256 bytes up to 4 kilobits.
  • Memory is divided into sectors, each of which (on chips with Cryptographic protection) has its own key set. It allows to locate several independent applications on a card.
  • The majority of chips has unique invariant serial number.
  • Communication protocol with read-record devices "Mifare RF Interface" (according to ISO/IEC 14443A standard).
  • Working frequency: 13.56 MHz
  • Working distance between a card and read-record device antenna - 10 sm
  • System of conflict resolution is supported
  • Speed of data communication with read-record device - 106 kilobit per second
  • For a number of chip types there exist possibility of irreversible protection of any sector from subsequent change.
  • For a number of chip types there exist possibility to organize an "electronic purse" where operations of balance increase and decrease have different rights of access.
  • Not less than 100000 cycles of rerecording.
  • Typical time of service: only reading - about 0, 1 second, reading-recording - up to several seconds.

The main advantage of Mifare contactless cards is convenience and safety of service (it is enough to pass a card near a reader). Flexible policy of protection and division of access rights for different operations with various memory spaces approximate possibilities of these cards to cards with operating systems (the location of several independent applications, electronic "purse" and etc. on a single card) advantages are evidently manifested in applications, which demand only data reading (for example, in identification applications).

Nowadays Mifare cards are used as bonus cards of various types in loyalty systems ("LFC") and as a payment card in «Petrol Plus» systems for local projects.
